TREES
4世紀を生きるイブキの巨樹。
その圧倒的な美しさを前に私は身じぎろぎさえできずにいた。禅寺の屋根よりも高く広げたその枝ぶりは威厳に満ちていた。
今までに何人の庭師が彼に関わって、彼らはどんな人生を生きたのだろう？
庭師たちは知っていたはず。彼を次の世代へと継いでいくことの意味を。
庭師たちと共に生きた彼は、全てを身体に刻み込んだ。
木々の年輪は、彼らの歴史。
アナログレコードのように控えめで絶対的な美しさ。
それは絶え間ない変化の流れの中に見出せる命の証。
その無常こそが永遠をつくりだす。
「永遠は、遍在する。」
イブキは沈黙のうちに私にそう教えてくれた。
I could not help just passing by, stunned by the beauty and dignity, staring at branches of 4 centuries old Ibuki tree spreads over the roof of the temple.
How many gardeners took care of him? How did they live their life? They must have known the meaning to inherit him to next generations. He has lived with them, then kept everything inside him.
Pattern of yearly growth circle is the history.
The humble and absolute beauty reminds me a vinyl record.
A beauty of life in the flow of changing.
The continuous changes makes infinity.
"Infinity is omnipresent."
That’s something the Ibuki tree told me silently.
